Galaxy S27 leaks point to a fourth model: a smaller Pro without the S Pen

If you want Ultra-class hardware without an Ultra-sized phone, the rumoured Galaxy S27 Pro is the model to watch. Leaks describe it as sharing much of the S27 Ultra's hardware while shrinking the screen to 6.6 inches, dropping the built-in S Pen, and running on a 5,200 mAh battery.

That would give the S27 range four members: the base Galaxy S27, an S27+, the S27 Pro and the S27 Ultra. Samsung is said to have explored a Pro-branded phone for the S26 generation already, and those plans fell through, which is worth keeping in mind before anyone treats a four-model lineup as settled.

One set of leaked measurements puts the smaller model at roughly 154.06 x 73.77 x 7.95 mm, about 9 mm shorter and 5 mm narrower than the S27 Ultra, with the two reportedly matching each other for thickness at 7.97 mm. The Ultra itself is tipped for a 6.9-inch display.

The vanilla S27 got its own CAD-based renders a day after the Ultra's leaked, and the picture there is one of near-total continuity: an oval camera bump in the top left corner of the back, a 6.3-inch screen carried over, and dimensions of 149.75 x 71.88 x 7.25 mm that make it very slightly larger than the S26 on every axis.

Inside, the leaks name two candidate chips. The Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 and Samsung's own Exynos 2700 are both in play, possibly split by market, with 12 GB or 16 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB or 1 TB of storage. The S27 might also move to a new main camera sensor made by Sony.

Batteries are where the generation looks most interesting. The S26 uses a 4,300 mAh cell, and early leaks put the S27 Ultra at 5,700 mAh, with the Pro's rumoured 5,200 mAh landing between them.

All of this rests on renders and leak reports rather than anything Samsung has said.
