Privacy
The short version: the site sets no cookies, runs no advertising network and has no user accounts, and you are given no identifier that could recognise you between visits. Page views are counted in aggregate so we know which stories are read. Below is what is collected and what is not.
Cookies
The site sets no cookies. Your choice of light or dark theme is kept in your own browser’s localStorage, it is never sent anywhere and it cannot be used to identify you. You can clear it from your browser settings.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics, which counts page views. It sets no cookies and gives you no persistent identifier, so we cannot follow you between visits or link one visit to another. In aggregate we see which pages are read, from which country, on what kind of device and which site you arrived from. We do not see who you are. There is no Google Analytics and no advertising pixel.
Server logs
The site is hosted on Vercel and, like any web server, it records technical event data: IP address, timestamp, requested path and browser identifier. This exists to run the service and prevent abuse, not to follow readers. The lawful basis is legitimate interest (GDPR Art. 6(1)(f)). Vercel acts as a processor.
If you write to us
If you send an email, your message and address stay in the mailbox for as long as handling the matter requires. We do not add your address to any list and we do not use it for marketing.
External and affiliate links
Source links lead to other publishers’ sites, which have their own privacy practices. Some shop links are affiliate links and are marked as such: clicking one tells the shop you arrived from here. We receive no personal data from this, only counts of completed purchases.
Data controller
The publisher and data controller of this site is:
- Company
- Digikamu Oy
- Business ID
- 3588277-9
- jussi@digikamu.fi
No data protection officer has been appointed, as the activity does not require one. Contact the address above.
Your rights
You have the right to access data about you, to correct it, to request erasure, to restrict processing and to object to it. Since we hold nothing that identifies you, in practice the only data we could look for is a server-log IP address or an email you sent. We answer within a month.
If you are unhappy with how a request is handled, you may complain to the Finnish Data Protection Ombudsman (tietosuoja.fi), or to the supervisory authority in your own country.
Changes
If analytics or any other data-collecting feature is ever added to the site, this page is updated at the same time. Last updated .
