JerryRigEverything calls the Pixel 11 Pro XL one of the easiest phones to repair of 2026
Zack Nelson's teardown found a phone that opens in minutes, while separate reports point to Pixel 11 Pro units getting stuck in a shutdown loop.
If you crack the screen on a Pixel 11 Pro XL, the repair is the part Google seems to have thought hardest about. Zack Nelson of JerryRigEverything put the phone through his durability and repairability routine, and according to Android Authority he came away calling it "one of the easiest phones to repair of 2026."
Opening it needs a heat gun, a suction cup and a thin pry tool. From there Nelson gets the display out in a few minutes, and the battery in a few more. Inside, the T4 screws that have to come out first are picked out in mint green, so you can see where to start without a guide.
Google estimates a professional screen swap at around $218 and a replacement battery at around $88. The phone itself starts at $1,299.
The structural test went the same way. Nelson wrenches on the 11 Pro XL and the video shows it barely bending or flexing at all.
The display is where the claim and the result part company. Google says the 11 Pro's screen is "more than twice as scratch-resistant than previous models" thanks to a new coating, but in the test it still scratches at level six, with deeper grooves appearing at level seven.

Repairability matters less when the phone will not start. An Android Authority writer reports that his own Pixel 11 Pro, the $1,099 model, turned into a brick after five days, stuck in a shutdown loop that switches the phone off every few seconds while it is still in setup.
He worked through it in order, from basic troubleshooting to safe mode, then to ADB, then to a manual OTA sideload, and none of it brought the phone back, with the single clue being an overheating message that appeared during one startup attempt. Nothing else surfaced.
He is not the only one. Android Authority points to multiple Pixel owners describing unexpected shutdowns and setup problems on Reddit and the Google Support forums, and says Google appears to be offering easy device swaps to some of the customers affected.
