Pixel 11 vs Pixel 10a: where Android Authority says the extra money goes

If you're weighing the cheaper Pixel against the flagship, the camera is the clearest place your money lands. Android Authority points to the Pixel 11's dedicated 10.8MP 5x telephoto camera, which paired with Google's image processing offers up to 30x Super Zoom while delivering much sharper photos at longer focal lengths.

The main sensor changed too. Android Authority describes the Pixel 11's brand-new 48MP unit as capable of brighter, cleaner photos in challenging lighting conditions.

Memory is the second split, and a plain one. The Pixel 10a ships with 8GB of RAM, the Pixel 11 with 12GB as standard, which Android Authority frames as giving Android much more room to keep your apps open.

The battery arithmetic goes the other way, and only just: the Pixel 10a packs a marginally larger 5,100mAh cell against 4,985mAh in the Pixel 11, a gap narrow enough that the more useful number is how quickly each phone refills, because the 10a supports 10W wireless charging while the Pixel 11 takes 25W over Qi 2.2. That second figure is the wider gap.

Build materials follow the same pattern. Gorilla Glass 7i covers the front of the Pixel 10a with plastic on the back, while the Pixel 11 uses Gorilla Glass Victus 2 on both faces.

Higher up the range, the Pixel 11 Pro XL is offered with 12 or 16GB of RAM.

Samsung's counter-argument, in Android Authority's telling, is a screen feature rather than a spec bump. Privacy Display works at the hardware level and limits side viewing angles, so the person sitting next to you can't read what's on your screen.
