YouTube Premium price rises reported in Europe and Singapore, months after the US increase
Subscribers in Portugal and Italy have received emails with new rates, and Singapore's increase is already live for new sign-ups.
If you pay for YouTube Premium outside the US, the number on your next invoice may not be the one you signed up for. Subscribers in Portugal and Italy have received emails laying out new rates, and Android Authority reports higher prices appearing in parts of Europe, with the individual plan moving from 17.99 euros to 20.99 euros a month and the family plan going to 29.99 euros, listed in that report as up from 25.99 euros a month. The change could land by the end of October 2026.
None of this comes from YouTube. The company has not published a wider list of affected countries or new rates, which leaves no single place to check whether your market is on it.
Singapore is the clearest case so far. The Straits Times reports an individual subscription rising from S$13.98 to S$15.98 per month and the family plan jumping from S$27.98 to S$31.98, with new subscribers already paying the higher rates while existing members see them take effect after at least 30 days.
The reported increases do not appear to follow one universal jump, and the gap between markets is the point here: prices across Europe have reportedly held since 2024, while US subscribers absorbed a rise from $13.99 to $15.99 in April 2026 and are unlikely to be touched by the European changes being reported now. Two different clocks, in other words.
Some people are cancelling. Android Authority notes a handful of reports of users cancelling after this latest round of emails, which is the one reaction a subscription business actually reads.
YouTube has also recently raised the price of YouTube Music Premium.
