Pixel 11 Pro: reviewers point to the new modem as the change you feel first

If you have owned a Pixel and quietly accepted that calls drop and data gets flaky, the Pixel 11 series is where that changes. Google has upgraded to a new modem, and in Android Authority's review the difference is the first thing that registers.
The reviewer describes clear phone calls over a car's hands-free system that haven't dropped out while driving into a new area, along with a strong, reliable 5G data connection, and calls both of them things he had given up on getting from a Pixel. That is not a spec sheet win. It is the daily one.
Battery life lands in the same territory. Android Authority's reviewer says he hasn't had to charge before bed yet, usually running from 8am to 11pm with 20% left. Heat is handled better too: he writes that the new phone feels like it matches a Galaxy S26 Ultra's thermal performance.
The verdict on the chip itself is cooler. The Tensor G6 feels like a new foundation for future Pixels, according to the same review, but it doesn't make the Pixel 11 a better value against the competition.
On the camera side, the review notes the new telephoto sensor can focus on subjects closer to it than before, which matters more for close-up work than for reach.
GSMArena's hands-on covers what separates the Pro from the rest of the line. The display is a brighter OLED and it is LTPO, so it refreshes more efficiently. Higher-tier storage configurations come with 16GB of RAM. The HiLight LEDs are embedded into the flash on the Pro.
One detail worth budgeting for: GSMArena reports the Pixel 11 Pro ships with only a USB-C cable, so a case and a charger are on you. Cases should be MagSafe-compatible now.
